Your Guide to Using the Self-Werk Method to Improve Your Life
The Self-Werk Method™ allows you to fully live life on your own terms. It helps you create space to consciously manage your life by incorporating the self-care you need to heal and grow.
What is the Self-Werk Method?
The Self-Werk Method™ is a system that teaches women how to use the Queendom Moves principle to set aligned goals grounded in self-discovery, support, reflection, and celebration. By using this method, women can take more aligned action toward their goals. They're also able to better manage life's challenges and successes because they are more confident, self-aware, and grounded in their truth.
Building your Queendom is the equivalent of what we think when we talk about a kingdom. Think about yourself as the Queen, and this is your castle. You get to direct what goes on in your castle, who gets to come to live there, decide who comes to eat at your table, who is prohibited from entering your castle walls, who your trusted advisers are, when they need to be removed, and so much more. As the Queen, you are unable to control everything that happens in your Queendom, but you can set up systems to better manage the challenges that arise.
The Self-Werk Method™ uses the idea of building a solid foundation for your success (your Queendom), so you can better manage your successes and challenges. The method combines our Six Pillars of Success with Self-Werk areas, aka Queendom Moves to help you create space to reach your goals.
How Does the Self-Werk Method™ Werk?
The pillars help you process and do self-discovery so that you can take aligned action toward creating a life of purpose. Once you get clarity on who you are and what you want, you can make Queendom Moves by setting goals in each Self-Werk area. Each goal you accomplish is intentional and moves you closer to living your dream life.
The healing journey is a JOURNEY, and the Six Pillars of Success (acceptance, self-compassion, self-ownership, self-mastery, contribution, and legacy) can help you navigate each season. As you werk through the pillars, it's important to know that you may go through all of the pillars and then find your way back to a pillar depending on what's going on in your life, which is natural.
Each time you go back to a pillar, you will dive deeper, pulling back more layers and discovering more about yourself. As you pull back layers and discover more things about yourself, you can werk to live a more centered lifestyle.
While you go through the Six Pillars of Success, you’ll set goals in each of the Self-Werk areas. For each goal, you will clarify what you want, claim it as yours by making a plan to achieve it, take aligned action to reach that goal, evaluate your progress, and then celebrate your accomplishments.
Why the Self-Werk Method Matters
Over the last six years of werking with women here at Women Who Werk, I’ve come across women who feel stuck in cycles they no longer want to be in anymore. The cycle that I see most women stuck in is they want to change, but they don’t have the resources they need. These women know what they want and want to achieve their goals, but they don't have the right support.
I have also been stuck in this cycle, and that’s what I love about the Self-Werk Method™. It’s built to take you from that stuck space to a courageous, fulfilled woman— all by giving you inspiration and a system to go after your life’s vision. Once you get clear about what you want, it can be easier to make plans you’ll actually achieve.
The more goals you knock off your list will help you get the momentum to create more space to do what YOU want to do. The Self-Werk Method™ can help you BE the impact that you WANT TO MAKE in this life.
I personally have been fortunate enough to work with millionaires from and high-level executives and managers, most of my professional life. I've seen what success looks like from a discipline level to an achievement level. It's been great to witness varying levels of success because it has allowed me to see people do what has been deemed - impossible.
My Life Before the Self-Werk Method
I come from a background where people live in survival mode, and thriving is very temporary. I've always wanted to create a sustainable life to thrive without depending on others or external validation.
After having my son, my number one life goal was to show him that he can live a life of abundance. I aspire for him to have a growth mindset and know from the depths of his soul that he can be successful doing the things that make him happy.
Before incorporating the Self-Werk Method™ into my life, I was “successful” by societal means. I created a life where I served other people before myself, and I thought pleasing people was the way to live life and true fulfillment. At this time, I didn't have a true purpose for life - I wore others’ joy and happiness as my own.
I’ve always been good at building relationships, and as an empath, it can be easy for me to get caught up in the emotions of others, thinking they are my own. Overthinking is very natural for me, but when it’s time to focus, this can get in the way of me reaching all of my goals.
Before the Self-Werk Method™, I had a lot more distractions in my life. Distractions that would leave me ungrounded and unbalanced. I werked to survive, which helped me thrive, but not in a way that made my heart flutter. The WERK I wanted to do was to impact women. I wanted to consciously live a life rooted in self-care so I could become the best mom.
Life Using the Self-Werk Method
By incorporating the Self-Werk Method™, I can do self-care more intentionally. With nearly all the choices I make, I try my best to make sure they are aligned with my desires to reach my personal, business, spiritual, financial, physical, and relationship goals.
Choosing which Self-Werk areas to werk on at any given time has allowed me to reach my goals faster. Breaking sections down into actionable steps has allowed me to streamline my healing. I realize that healing is not linear, but a good plan makes all the difference.
I make plans, and I’m flexible with how I get the results. Since I am aware of how I’m doing and am not stuck on a particular process, I have moved past situations where I’d normally stall. I now can reflect on where I have been while also acknowledging who I am, and actively choosing who I want to become.
I've benefited greatly from doing deep shadow werk that now l can catch and correct an undesirable habit and choose which good choices I want to keep. The pillars have helped me identify what triggers and blocks keep holding me back.
I now know what makes me tick, and not just on a surface level. I’ve been able to go really deep into my shadow to discover the strategies I have used to protect myself in the past and reflect on how those coping mechanisms are showing up in my life today.
In these moments, I can step back, take a breath and decide what the next action should be instead of being impulsive. Knowing myself on this deep of a level has been crucial in my ability to take my life to the next level. I have now created a more personal, purposeful life, that is aligned with what I want to be and how I want to show up in the world.
